A mystery game in ChatGPT that ChatGPT can't spoil
If you ask ChatGPT to run a mystery, it writes the answer itself, so the story can drift and the person who prompted it can't be surprised. Alibi Hour keeps each case on its own server: ChatGPT gets one statement each time you ask a suspect a question, and learns the culprit only after you accuse.

How it works
- Add Alibi Hour. Find Alibi Hour in ChatGPT's plugins and add it. No account needed.
- Open today's case. Say “Let's play today's Alibi Hour case”. ChatGPT shows the case file card.
- Ask questions. “Ask Ben where he was at 8:30.” ChatGPT passes on Ben's answer word for word.
- Accuse. “I think it was Cleo.” Alibi Hour decides, and shows the solution and par.
Made-up mystery or Alibi Hour
Both run in ChatGPT; they work very differently.
| Alibi Hour | A mystery ChatGPT makes up | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the answer lives | On Alibi Hour's server | In the chat that wrote it |
| Can the story change? | No: every statement is fixed before the case opens | Yes, as the chat goes on |
| Exactly one answer | Checked by a solver | Not guaranteed |
| Shared with others | One case a day for everyone, with a percentile | Only your chat |
| Party with friends | Private sheets on each phone | One screen sees everything |
