Alibi Hour

Terms of service

Last updated: October 14, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and The Open Apps, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("we", "us"), for the Alibi Hour plugin in ChatGPT and the website alibihour.ambientapp.ai, including its party pages. By playing Alibi Hour you accept these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle data.

1. What Alibi Hour is

Alibi Hour is a daily whodunit puzzle. Each day there is one case for everyone: something has gone missing, there are four suspects and six ten-minute times. One suspect, the culprit, lies in every answer; the other three always tell the truth. You may ask up to 10 questions, then accuse one suspect. A new case opens every day at 00:00 UTC. Party mode runs a separate case for a group of people in one room, with a private sheet for each guest who plays a suspect.

Alibi Hour costs nothing to play and has no ads. OpenAI provides ChatGPT and is not a party to these terms.

2. Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old to play or to join a party.

3. Cases and solutions

Every case is fiction: made-up people, places and events, and nothing violent. Each case is checked by a solver so that exactly one suspect can be the culprit under the rules shown with the case, and par is the fewest questions that prove it. If you think a case is wrong, write to us with the case number; our decision on a case is final for that day's results.

4. Fair play

Play with your own reasoning. Don't use bots, scripts or many accounts to ask questions, probe cases or parties in bulk, guess party codes, or change other players' percentiles. We may remove results that do, and limit or block access.

5. Parties

The host of a party is responsible for who they invite. Party links are open to anyone who has them; don't post them publicly. The host can remove any seat from the card, or end the party. A guest's sheet is private to the phone that took it. Parties are deleted 24 hours after their last activity, or when the host ends them.

6. Share links

A share link shows one result (the case title, how many questions you used, whether you solved it, and par) to anyone who has the link; it names the culprit only after that case has closed. Deleting your data removes your share links.

7. The service

We work to keep Alibi Hour available but can't promise it will always be. Cases, rules and features may change. We may end the service; if we do, we will say so on the website first.

8. Liability

Alibi Hour is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about Alibi Hour is limited to $50. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, except where your local consumer law requires otherwise.
