A mystery party where the host plays too
Alibi Hour's party mode turns one case into a game for a room: four guests play the suspects from private sheets on their phones, everyone else plays detective, and nobody, not even the person running it, knows who did it until the reveal.

How a party works
Start it
Tell ChatGPT “Start an Alibi Hour mystery party”. You get a 4-letter code, a link and a QR code to show the room.
Take your sheets
Everyone opens the link on their phone. Four guests take a suspect's sheet; the rest join as detectives. Each sheet is private: the culprit's phone tells them so, and gives them a cover story.
Question, vote, reveal
Ask each other “Where were you at 8:30?”; suspects read the line on their sheet. Vote on your phones, then tell ChatGPT to reveal.
Good to know
- How many people?
- Two to twelve: up to four suspects and up to eight detectives. With fewer than four guests, the card in ChatGPT reads the lines of the suspects nobody took.
- Does anyone need an account?
- No. Guests open a web page; they don't type a name or sign up. The host needs ChatGPT.
- How long does it take?
- About 15 to 30 minutes. The case is solver-checked: the answers on the four sheets always point to exactly one culprit.
- Is it OK for teens?
- Yes. It's for ages 13 and up, and every case is non-violent: something goes missing or gets pranked, and nobody gets hurt.
- What happens to the party afterwards?
- It's deleted 24 hours after its last activity, or at once when the host says “end the party”.
